Liquid Level Sensing; Tank Inventory by Weight or Hydrostatic Pressure

Imagine an accurate liquid inventory system with Internet Graphic Display. Never run out of material or overfill your vessel because it warns you.

  • Accurate Liquid Level Monitoring System using weight or hydrostatic sensor.  Better than level measurement.
  • Costs a lot less than a tank scale, comparable with the best Guided Wave Level Transmitters.
  • Shows material weight or level, based on leg or hydrostatic pressure sensors, in any Tank or Storage Vessel as a continuous level measurement.
  • Use load cell mounts instead of tank leg sensors for 0.1% accuracy or better.
  • Special features include: Weather Filter and Analog Inputs from sensors.
  • Bar-graphs change color at each alarm level.  See them at a glance.
  • No other manufacturer has these major advantages.

More details on SiloWeigh

SiloWeigh liquid level detector and inventory system uses tank load cells or bolt-on L-Strain sensors

Features & Benefits

Identify and stop delivery shortages. In addition, save money on refill transport through better scheduling.  Tank inventory displays give you the ability to check every delivery, even weeks ago, against the delivery ticket.  Consequently it puts you in command of the situation.

  • History trend graphs for any tank or vessel in the company.
  • In addition, compare delivery amounts with truck tickets.
  • Viewable on computer, Ipad, Iphone, Android and Blackberry phones.
  • Unlimited number of tanks or vessels.  This is especially relevant to companies with many locations, who can see all on one screen.
  • The only tank scale and inventory system that measures divided tanks/silos and shared frame tanks/silos; no other manufacturer has this option.

SiloWeigh.Net is a liquid level monitoring system using leg sensors or hydrostatic level sensors locally on network computers and through the Internet

  • Visual warning alarms at High and Overfill levels, hence preventing spills and subsequent environmental issues.
  • Symbols change color at alarm levels.
  • Hard-wired alarms can connect to horns and lights to warn filling operator.
  • In addition, valves can positively halt the filling operation.
  • Software alarm log at plant and company level.

SiloWeigh II Pro tank scales can be displayed on any local computer or by WiFi on any local phone or tablet

  • Watch the vessel and tank scale amounts remotely on your phone, tablet or computer.  Especially relevant to people on the move. Beats guided wave level.
  • Special software removes weather-induced instability but reacts instantly to real level changes; no other manufacturer offers this but without it, you can get errors of 10% to 20% lasting several hours.
  • Email alerts and refill order generation (SiloWeigh.Net).
  • Avoids forgetting to order material, gives peace of mind as a result.
  • In addition, saves money through better truck scheduling.
  • Markets include liquid tanks of all sizes, grain elevators, animal feed mills, flour mills, chemicals, explosives and blasting supplies. Also power stations, water treatment plants and many others, as well as these examples.
  • More accurate than laser level transmitters.
“This plant is the only one across Canada that has never run out of material or had a silo spill since SiloWeigh.Net was installed in 2015” says Barry Metzner, manager, Lafarge-Holcim, Greater Vancouver, BC, Canada area, July 2018
“It is accurate to 1 to 2%.  Very nice system, works well.” says Sam Santos of ABC Group (injection molded parts). August 2019
Best service in the business” says Greg Roache of Gainey’s Concrete Products. May 2017

Installing silo and tank inventory system in a Dubai concrete plant

Customers & Applications

Recent examples of customers in the concrete, blasting, farming, flour milling and bulk materials industries:

  • Deewan Equipment in Dubai has installed hundreds of SiloWeigh silo and liquid level monitoring systems throughout the U.A.E. over the last 12 years.  As a result, they are in use in most of the ready-mix plants in Dubai and surrounding Emirates.
  • Lafarge Canada, a subsidiary of Lafarge-Holcim, in Port Mann BC, installed SiloWeigh.Net on the plant’s silos in 2015 and because of its success, they have extended it to all plants in the Greater Vancouver Area.
  • Adams Oldcastle has SiloWeigh II silo and tank inventory system installed in fifteen of their precast concrete plants on the U.S. Eastern Seaboard in 2017 and early 2018.

Silo inventory system and non-contact liquid level sensing for blasting supplies at Peabody's NARM open pit coal mine

  • Dyno Nobel installed SiloWeigh.Net at Peabody’s NARM facility in Wyoming, one of the largest coal mines in the U.S., in 2016.  25 silos and liquid level detector systems in 8 groups, filled with ammonium nitrate and emulsion (a liquid explosive), are scattered across 100 square miles of territory.  They are powered by solar arrays and networked to a central reporting computer by nine radios.  The system is being upgraded with AC power at all silos in early 2018.
  • Alpha Dyno Nobel of Lincoln CA installed SiloWeigh II on prill and emulsion explosives tanks in 2017.

Silo inventory system and liquid level detectors installed at Asmus Egg Farms, Iowa

  • Asmus Egg Farms in Minnesota installed SiloWeigh.Net silo inventory system on their chicken feed bins in 2017.  Similar broiler, egg production, hog and cattle rearing farms abound in almost every country. Almost all of these require some form of bin weighing and hydrostatic level sensing system.
  • La Meunerie Milanese, in Eastern Quebec, installed SiloWeigh.Net on their flour mill silos and tanks, some using tank load cells, in 2014.

Silo and tank inventory system at Baker-Hughes frac sand terminal, Shafter CA

  • Baker-Hughes, the Texas oil giant, uses SiloWeigh.Net in its Shafter, CA fracking sand terminal.  The inventory in 12 silos of 610 ton are compared with the filling and usage values in their BatchTron control system to flag differences.
Inventory control used to be a nightmare.  Since we installed SiloWeigh.Net, it’s a breeze”.  Ray Young, Oldcastle Building Products, Ogden, UT. Installed 2017 with 2 local silos by cable, one 200 ft away, one 1000 ft away and one at 1 mile, all connecting by radio link.
“No complaints at this point.  The system is working great and has helped us identify some significant gaps between what we should be receiving and what we actually did receive”  Chris Allensworth, Nestle, Jonesboro, NC. Nov 2018
