BATCHTRON II - applications

BatchTron II meets the standards of PCI, NPCA, NRMCA and other associations for concrete plant certification.

Hookup to Startup

Installation can be accomplished by any electrician familiar with industrial control systems.  Connect to console models with multi-conductor flexible cable, to allow it to be moved for the best operator position, Teck or conduit for wall-mounted cabinets.  We recommend our personnel be present during scale calibration and startup;  this ensures that operator training is accomplished and any on-site changes are completed before we leave, to ensure your satisfaction.

Although you can do the startup yourself once your designated technician has been factory trained, we recommend that our personnel be on-hand to avoid costly delays due to simple and easily solved problems.

STI (Service and Training by Internet)

BatchTron's lifetime and reliability are by far the best in the industry.  This is not where we stop, however.  Our customers tell us - loud and clear - when they do have a problem.  In order to solve problems quickly and efficiently we have called upon the latest Internet technology.  Through your company network and its Internet connection, or even through a phone connection to the Internet, we can access your batching system and monitor its progress to pinpoint faults.  Even if the faults are caused by mechanical problems in the plant (90% of all faults are), we can see the resulting holdup and guide the operator to a successful outcome, anywhere in the world.

Our engineers can monitor or control the PC computer running BatchLink or RediLink software, drilling down through levels of menus to check setup data, correct it and, most important, train personnel to understand the processes.  Together with a speaker phone, training sessions for groups can be conducted almost as easily as our trainer being on site.  The cost saving and convenience is obvious.  Scale-Tron is pioneering this technology to make your experience the best possible.

Installation examples

Saramac Beton Préfabriqué, part of Schokbeton Group, Montreal, 2013.  Single Eirich mixer feeds a plant specialized in architectural pieces for facades of buildings.  This very old central mix plant has been upgraded with new controls several times.  The concrete being produced at this plant is very critical and high accuracy is maintained by the self-tuning aspect of the BatchTron controls

Block Tech, Ajman, UAE, 2007.  Batchtron II controls a small central mix concrete plant feeding an 'egg-layer' block machine that lays the compressed but uncured blocks on the ground.  the hot and humid Dubai air does the curing in a few hours. 

Several other installations of BatchTron are running in various plants throughout the UAE, from Ajman in the north to Abu Dhabi in the south.  Service is done on-line during our night time when required, which is rare.

Joe Floyd, Oregon, 2008.  See picture at top of page.  A small precast plant was installed by J. McCoy Equipment to make general precast and drainage products.  They have called us only once or twice since the plant was commissioned.

Anchor Concrete, Kingston Ontario,  2004.  The two plants make prefab buildings and drainage products.  Anchor replaced their old genie-II system, also from Scale-Tron, with one of the original BatchTrons and added the second one when they added their second building and plant.  Both systems run continuously with practically no maintenance.

Thalle Construction, Kentucky Dam Project, 2010.  A special application, the operator console shown at left connects to a free-standing cabinet that houses both motor controls and the BatchTron PLC.  It is controlling the wet-belt aggregate cooling system and concrete plant bin refilling, based on the usage rate of materials.  Variable speed feeders are controlled to hold bin levels near their mid-point as production speeds up and slows down.

Other BatchTron II customers include all of the Lindsay family's plants throughout the U.S. and all the Wieser family's plants, in the Wisconsin and Iowa region, many precast, block and ready-mix plants across the U.S. and Canada and Concretos La Silla's plants in Mexico.


BatchTron-II as described above is adaptable to many different applications by use of Setup menu choices.Features available by menu choice include loss in weight batching, aggregate feed to mixer by gravity, conveyor or skip hoist, 3 to 6 aggregates, 1 to 4 cements, 2 to 7 scales etc.  Custom versions for colour pigment batching, food and chemical batching etc.are also available.  Many extra functions can be added - examples are aggregate refill by conveyor belts, shuttling conveyors or turnheads etc.Power and I/O can be 24, 110/120 or 220/240 volt to suit any country.Language of screen messages can be customized and special symbols can be created for Far Eastern countries.
